NETA membership is offered on a rolling basis for 12 months and costs $50. Full-time students or students enrolled part-time in a translation- or interpreting-related program pay only $30. (Since our automated system accepts only $50 payments, students must follow the second procedure below, that is, fill out a form and mail in a check.)
You can join NETA any time in either of two ways:
1. Online: Sign up online and make your payment using PayPal. Please click on the button.
2. Paper registration form with check: Please print a PDF version of the FORM and fill it out. Mail it along with a check for $50, payable to the New England Translators Association (or NETA), to the following address:

Please note: There are no certification prerequisites for membership. Membership is open to anyone who is a practicing translator, interpreter, translation editor, or teacher, and to those interested in learning about the profession. However, we do not have agency memberships. If you function as an agency, you must join as an individual, and at least 20% of your “translation-related” or “interpreting-related” income must come from your own translation, interpreting, editing, or teaching. Members Only Once you are a paid-up member of NETA, you have full access to the Members Only section of this website. You should be receiving confirmation from the membership coordinator, indicating that you may now log in to enjoy site privileges. If, for some reason, you do not receive confirmation within a couple of days, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to inquire about your membership status. In the Members Only section, you can check on your membership status, renew your membership, manage your Yahoo! Groups preferences, see Board meeting minutes, and/or check the NETA Member Contact List for names and contact information for your fellow NETAns. And you can create a profile or update your profile in the Services Directory. Also, once you are a paid-up member of NETA, you have the option of joining one or both of our listservs. Our membership coordinator will send you specific information on that opportunity as part of her initial email. Services Directory Once you are a member, you may wish to list your name and credentials in NETA’s Services Directory on this website. Please check out the Services Directory to see how other NETAns have listed themselves. To update information or make changes in your Services Directory profile, log in to your account, go to Members Only (on the left), click on Manage Profile, click on Edit (in the gray box) and then Update Your Profile. Select the Contact Info tab and make any changes you wish, including changing your password. Click on Update at the bottom. Your profile will be updated in the database. |
