In a variety of settings interpreters play a vital role in relaying crucial information between patients and/or clients and those providing medical, legal, community, and business consultations.

Clear articulation and pronunciation and effective intonation patterns are required to communicate that information accurately. For nonnative English-speaking professionals, an accent barrier may pose an additional challenge to satisfactory communication and inhibit the development of trust and rapport. The result could have potential legal, ethical, and financial consequences.

This interactive workshop will teach participants tangible communication rules that can be readily incorporated into any setting where clear and effective communication is paramount.

Our speaker, Marjorie Feinstein-Whittaker, M.S., owner of The Whittaker Group in Brookline, is an experienced corporate speech and communication consultant and licensed speech and language pathologist who has focused her work on helping individuals from diverse cultural, language, and professional backgrounds create the language of success by communicating clearly, confidently, and effectively.
